How to Write Product Descriptions That Actually Sell on Amazon and Flipkart

On a marketplace, your product description is competing against ten near-identical listings on the same search page. Specs alone rarely win that comparison — the description that answers a buyer's hesitation does.
Lead with the buyer's problem, not the product's features
"500ml, stainless steel, double-wall insulated" tells a buyer what it is. "Stays cold for 12 hours, so it survives a full workday without a top-up" tells them why it matters — and that's usually what closes the sale.
Bullet points get scanned, not read
Most buyers skim the bullet points and only read the full description if something in the bullets caught their attention. Front-load the strongest, most differentiating point in the first bullet, not the last.
Answer the objection before it's asked
If a product has a common concern (size runs small, needs assembly, isn't waterproof), addressing it directly in the listing prevents both the hesitation and the negative review that follows from a buyer who found out the hard way.
Keywords still need to sound like a sentence
Marketplace search does reward keyword-relevant titles and descriptions, but a description that reads like a keyword dump erodes trust the moment a human reads it. Write for the buyer first, and keep the keywords in service of that, not the other way round.
